PURPOSE:To improve the productivity of a welded can by press-welding a butt part on which a laser beam is projected by a couple of rolls to reduce the thickness of a welded zone. CONSTITUTION:When a metal tabular body approaches can-barrel welding equipment, the rolls 5 and 6 are joined to side edge parts 10a and 10b to control the position of the butt part 11. The couple of rolls 5 and 6 including the roll 5 having the inclined pressing surface 5a are used for positioning the butt part 11. The side edge parts 10a and 10b are pressed at the back part of the butt part 11 and a gap is not generated between both parts and moreover, the side edge part 10a located at the upper side is guided by the inclined pressing surface 5a in the vicinity of an opening of the butt part 11. The laser beam is projected on the butt part 11 whose position is controlled by the rollers 5 and 6 from a laser beam irradiating device 9. By this method, the firm welding is performed and the sealing property of the welded zone is improved and the welding speed is increased and the productivity is improved. |
