PURPOSE:To enable automatic performance with diverse timbre by reading specific timbre data according to automatic performance data and generating a musical sound of specific pitch with timbre corresponding to the read timbre data. CONSTITUTION:A timbre data write means 205 reads timbre data indication signal from a musical sound generating means 210, for instance, or specified timbre data out of a recording medium and writes the read timbre data in a specific area of a timbre data storage means 203. Then an automatic performance data read means 212 reads specific automatic performance out of the recording medium in order. The musical sound generating means 201 reads the specific timbre data out of the timbre data storage means 203 according to the read automatic performance data and generates a musical sound of specific pitch with the timbre corresponding to the read timbre data. Consequently, an optional melody can be played automatically with optional timbre by using the automatic performance data and timbre data recorded on the recording medium such as a CD. |
