This thrust bearing is of the sort including, connected axially by a cap (14), an operating element (15) which, by means of lugs (16) is attached to the cap (14), and an attack element (17) which, under the urging of elastic means (18) shored-up by a flange (20) belonging to the operating element (15), bears against a front wall (22) of the cap (14). According to the invention, and together, on the one hand, the sleeve (21) of the operating element (15) is made from a synthetic material and, on the other hand, its lugs (16) which stem from its flange (20) are made of metal, the sleeve (21) for example being overmoulded on the internal periphery of the flange (20) which is then itself metallic.
