The grinding disc such as for finishing glass plates or grinding wood, has a number of radial bolts each with a shaft (18) and head (16) with a mounting nut (34). Each grinding block has at least one bolt opening (14) running radially inwards through it with a seating either for the bolt head (16) or nut with a passage (20) for the bolt shaft (18). Reinforcements (24,26) for the concrete core work together with either the bolt nut or head to hold the grinding block against the core periphery. When all the grinding blocks have been assembled round the core, held and clamped in place by their bolts, a significant amt. of the centrifugal force is countered. ADVANTAGE - The grinder assembly can be produced more rapidly than conventional units, with an improved grinding quality and faster exchange of worn sections.
