Foul-smelling air is available in a channel, from which it is sucked or pressed to one or more processing units from which the air after cleaning can be released into the atmosphere. The air temp. and humidity are maintained at predetermined values, and it is sucked or pressed through an absorbent comprising e.g. peat or other vegetable matter, the absorbent resting on a gas-permeable grid or is placed at a distance from the bottom. - The equipment used comprises a drive unit capable of sucking and possibly pressing polluted air through the absorbent maintained in at least two closed/storage vessesl coupled to the drive unit, with the absorbent bed being maintained on grids at a distance from the bottom of the vessel. The vessel dimensions are such that they can be easily transported. - Controlling components in the drive unit maintain a temp. in the range 23 - 29 deg.C., and a relative humidity of at least 85% RH. One suction fan is used which provides an air movement through the absorbent which at the most is 300 sq.m./m3/hr. The vessels have a width not exceeding 240 cm and a height not exceeding 125 cm. |
