PURPOSE:To obtain the title bacillus subtilis with high safety, useful for producing peptides. etc., through gene recombination by incorporating specific mutant gene into specific Bacillus subtilis deficient in productivity for alkali protease etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective Bacillus subtilis can be obtained by incorporating (A) spo OA 677 mutant gene into (B) Bacillus subtilis deficient in productivity for alkali protease and neutral protease and <=3% of the wild strain in protease activity. The present Bacillus subtilis is pref. Bacillus subtilis sp. 011 strain (FERM P-10987) obtained by incorporating spo OA 677 mutant gene into Bacillus subtilis 104 HL strain.
