PURPOSE:To enable displaying of a character and an image in such a manner as to be identified separately by performing a display with a lowered brightness when a character is large and with a raised brightness when it is small. CONSTITUTION:A recorder is provided anew with a size division zone number (S, D) altering indication section 4, a character reading/judging section 5 and a switch 7 and a pixel value converting section 6. Then, at a position of scanning those other than characters, the switch 7 is On in the direction of a solid line and none of the new parts is not involved. At a position of scanning the characteristics, when S and D are altered, the switch 7 is turned in the direction of a dotted line through an indication section 4 and a judging section 5. As a result, a pixel value Q5 of a character pertaining to an upper left zone in a screen is inputted into a pixel value converting section 6. On the other hand, altering values S and D are inputted into a pixel value converting section 6 from an S/D altering indication section 4 to prepare a new pixel value Q4 according to a specified system. When a lookup table 2 is accessed according to the pixel value Q4, a brightness I4 corresponding to the Q4 is obtained. At the I4, a laser printer 3 prints a character at a desired brightness. |
