The invention relates to a clutch with several friction discs, of the sort including a reaction plate (1), a cover (3), an intermediate ring (5), and at least one intermediate pressure plate (30) secured, in terms of rotation, to the said ring while being movable axially with respect to the latter through the agency of driving means carried by the said ring, in which the cover (3) has a skirt (6) provided with openings (64). According to the invention, the intermediate ring (5) reduces to a simple annulus (150), and, in order to form driving means, the said annulus carries, in axial projection, at least two stubs (pegs) (200) each one engaging slidingly in a hole (201) made in a radially projecting lug (161) and secured to the said intermediate pressure plate, the said lug (161) being embedded in a said opening (64) in the skirt (6) of the cover (3).
