A flexible tubular pipe (1) comprises, from the inside outwards, an inner sealing tube or sleeve (3) and an armouring consisting of a plurality of armouring webs. The armouring comprises a first armouring web (4) supporting the inner sealing tube or sleeve (3) and consisting of a plurality of armoured folded-seam strips (10) lying at an angle A1 of less than 80 DEG in relation to the axis (2) of the flexible tubular pipe (1); and a set of armouring webs (5) placed on the outside of said first armouring web (4) and comprising at least one armouring web. The strips (10A) of said assembly have non-folded seams and are arranged in such a way that together, their angles complement angle A1 and a balanced flexible tubular pipe can be achieved.
