PURPOSE:To enable the enlargement and reduction of a picture at arbitrary magnification by a simple signal processing by enlarging/reducing the picture vertically and horizontally by arithmetic and calculating the picture element values of respective picture elements forming the picture from correspondent picture elements before executing the enlargement/reduction. CONSTITUTION:The processed picture is obtained after being enlarged/reduced vertically and horizontally at the desired magnification by the arithmetic. Then, the picture element values of the respective picture elements forming the picture are calculated from the correspondent picture elements before executing the enlargement/reduction. Therefore, the enlargement/reduction can be executed by the arithmetic of the same algorithm, and not only similar enlargement/ reduction but also enlargement/reduction with a different aspect ratio can be easily executed. Thus, the magnification is not limited and can be easily calcu lated. |
