PURPOSE:To obtain a raster character image of high quality by providing a storage means for storing output device information and attribute information, a correction control means which determines whether or not one of plural correction processes differing in process contents is performed, and a correcting means which performs the correction process. CONSTITUTION:Whether or not at least one of the correction processes (line width correction, half-bit process, boldfacing process, balance correction for line position, etc.) is performed is determined according to the output device information (resolution, reproducibility of one dot, reproducibility of dot border, etc.) regarding output characteristics of an output device and the attribute information (font of developed character, character kind of developed character, size of developed character, etc.) regarding the character to be developed. Then when it is determined that one correction process is performed, outline character data are corrected according to the contents of the correction process. Therefore, the outline character data are corrected only when the correction process is required to obtain the raster character image of high quality. |
