摘要 PURPOSE:To enable an optimum optical communication to be made even if a mark rate of a burst signal is not consistent by converting the burst signal to light for allowing a peak value of light corresponding to a start bit of the burst signal to be consistent. CONSTITUTION:When a burst signal BS is input to an input terminal 1, a transistor Tr1 is turned on. Then, a transistor Tr3 is turned on by voltage from a compression amplifier 9. Then, current is allowed to flow from a voltage source V4 at a specified level to a ground E1, thus enabling light-emitting element 2 to emit light. Further, the converted optical signal PS is fed to an optic fiber 10 and is output to a transmission line and at the same time it is output to a photodetector 3. Then, only the start bit of a signal S1 which is amplified is detected and a signal S2 is output. Then, a signal S5 which is processed by a differential circuit 6, etc., is fed to the compression amplifier 9 and a peak power of light of the light-emitting element 2 is controlled, thus enabling the optical signal to be proportional to a burst signal.
