Fibre-reinforced construction panel is based on a binder which is at least latently hydraulic, as matrix material, contg. 0.3-2 wt.% synthetic fibres and 0.2-5 wt.% of an elastomer. Pref. the matrix material comprises 25-60 wt.% of an inorganic binder and residual additives and admixts., pref. a silicatic component, more pref. sand, esp. quartz sand, a liquefier, pref. melamine resin or naphthalene sulphonate. Pref. the synthetic fibres are organic high modulus fibres, esp. polyacrylonitrile fibres. Pref. the elastomer is natural latex or a polystyrene-butadiene copolymer. Pref. the binder is a Portland cement. ADVANTAGE - New panel has max. bending strength and tensile strength and esp. fracture strength and the fibres are alkali-resistant, so that they can be processed with a conventional binder.
