PURPOSE:To perform a cleaning operation in advance and to enhance the quality of a recorded signal by providing the following: a measurement means which measures the quantity of reflected light in a state that an optical disk has been loaded; a judgment means which judges whether the quantity of light is less than a prescribed quantity of light or not; and an expression means. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk 2 is loaded at the inside of an optical disk unit 1; it is turned by using a disk motor 3. The following are provided: a measurement means 5 which measures the quantity of reflected light from the optical disk 2; a judgment means 10 which judges whether the measured quantity of light is less than a prescribed quantity of light or not; and an expression mechanism 11 which expresses a fact by using a display or a sound when it is judged that the quantity of reflected light is less than the prescribed quantity of light. Thereby, a disk/head cleaning operation can be performed in advance while the operator of the optical disk 2 is not damaged actually by a recording error, a reply error and the like; the quantity of a recorded signal on the optical disk 2 can be enhanced. |
