<p>PURPOSE:To raise a reproduced chroma signal luminance level without lowering a reproducing intensity level by applying a tracking servo so as to always trace a position shifted by a correction value from a normal just tracking position. CONSTITUTION:In order to reproduce a signal recorded by a wider rotary head 2 than the width of a track by a wider head 2 than the same width of the track, a relative contact position of the head 2 to a magnetic tape 1 is forcedly shifted by a predetermined amount laterally to a head moving direction in a state that the head 2 is tracked to be moved to a central position to a standard track. Left and right tracking positions A, B lowered by a predetermined level from the maximum value of a reproduced signal level are detected, and a tracking servo is conducted so as to always trace a position moved by a correction value C from an average value of the positions A, B. Thus, an S/N of a reproduced chroma signal is improved without dropping the S/N of the luminance level.</p> |
