The invention concerns a device for combating floor draughts, heating up the vicinity of the feet and an auxiliary device for ceiling heaters, by taking most of the heat which the heating element gives off through the frame of the device to the required area of the surface through a layer of insulation. In known contact foot heaters the discontinuity point of the heat is at the edge of the heater where the warm surface of the heater meets the surroundings. This causes movement of the air at the edge of the heater which can lead to localized discomfort for parts of the body and reduce the planned heating effect of the heater. The heating element 1 is attached to the lower part 2 of the frame, the platform 3 of the frame is above the lower part 2 of the frame. The uppermost part of the heater is a layer of insulation which directs most of the heat to the required area bordered by the frame and the conductive layer 5. This layer can be replaced for example by dimensioning the heating element 1 to be the same size as the effective heating area. Airspaces 6 can be arranged inside the frame to avoid heat losses. <IMAGE>
