PURPOSE:To obtain a thermally transferable recording sheet which does not allow adequate thermal history of a support film and allows an image of satisfactory quality to be obtained by providing a thermal transfer layer on the surface of a support and at the same time, providing a back layer of specific composition on the rear of the support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer layer 2 is provided on the front of a support 1, and a back layer 3 is provided on the rear of the support 1. In addition, during transfer process, first the front of the back layer 3 is heated by a thermal head, then part of ink in a thermal transfer layer 2 becomes molten to peel off and this molten ink becomes transferred to a recording sheet. That is, the back layer 3 has a coat with a thickness of 0.001 to 0.1mum which consists of a mixture of silicone rubber and acrylic resin provided on the rear of the support. Silicon rubber, different from silicone resin consisting of three functional groups, is composed of two functional groups. In other words, the silicone rubber is a cross-linked product having rubber elasticity through the addition/polymerization or a vinyl group substituted with an alkyl group partly. The recommended acrylic resin is such as capable of glass transition temperature (Tg) of about 45 deg.C or higher, which demonstrates high roll contamination preventive effects. |
