A polyester fiber comprises polyester (A) prepared by polycondencing a dicarboxylic component (a) containing at least 80 mole% of terephthalic acid or its derivative with a glycol component (b) containing at least 80 mole% of ethylene glycol, tetramethylene glycol or 1,4-cyclohexane dimethanol, compound (B) of formula (I) and (II), and polyalkylene oxide (C) of formula (III) having a molecular weight of 300-5000. In the formulas, A is -COOH, - COOCH3, -COOCH2CH2 OH or -OH; M is Na, Li or K; X is H or OH; n is 2-5; m is 3-100. The polyester fiber has a good dyeing property and alkali-resistance.
