Wireline apparatus for subsea use, comprising a wireline, a winch and a feed tube which communicates sealingly with a wellhead and a housing. The wireline and the winch are substantially enclosed within the housing the wireline extends through a sidewall of the feed tube at an acute angle to the axis of the feed tube.
