WORK PIECE CUTTING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus having a grid of movable supporting members for supporting workpiece in a laser cutting device and a controller. CONSTITUTION: The workpiece plate 3 is supported on the grid formed by oscillating arms, i.e., fins 5 in a laser cutting machine 1 having a numerically controlled laser cutting head. The respective arms are mounted pivotally at their outer ends by using liquid pressure or pneumatic cylinders 6 to support the plate and are controlled by a common program controller for the cutting head and the supporting arms. In order to prevent the damage by the laser or the damage of the plate by reflection, the arms in these positions are lowered. The cut pieces are dropped and ejected onto a conveyor belt 7 by descending of the arms existing in these positions. All the supporting arms are lowered and the remaining grid is also dropped and ejected at the time of ending the working.
