The device comprises, in combination, a plate (7) provided with means for fixing the upper extremities of two sack straps, comprising an extension (9) having two coaxial fingers (10), and a piece (8) fixed to the back of the sack comprising a plurality of vertically offset notched elements on its outwardly facing surface, each notched element having two parallel hook-shaped housings (15) opening downwardly and separated from each other by a recess (16), said two housings receiving the two fingers (10) of the strap fixing plate (7), means being provided to maintain said two fingers (10) in the housings (15) wherein they have been engaged.
