SURFACE MOUNTING SOCKET FOR INTEGRATED CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To connect a pressor frame with a base with a sufficiently large strength without damage at the time of replacement of an integrated circuit. CONSTITUTION:An engagement pawl 3b is protruded from a side surface of a pressor frame 3 for holding an integrated circuit 4 with a base 1. A holding metal 5 is provided separately from the base 1 for the engagement pawl 3b to be engaged. The holding metal has a holding member 5a having a flexibility along the thickness to face a side surface of the base 1. A leg member 5b protruded in a center part of the holding member 5a is held between the base 1 and the circuit board, so the holding metal 5 is fixed in a constant position to the base 1.
