This alloy is used for welding pieces that operate at high temperature, such as in internal combustion engines. It has an austenite structure and, in the process of the build-up welding, it is self-fluxed. The plastic properties of the so-welded layer are better, while the opportunity for formation of crevices is reduced. The powder-like alloy is iron-based and contains carbon, chromium, nickel, boron and silicon, and is additionally alloyed with molybdenum according to the following component proportions (in mass%) : carbon (0.01-0.2), chromium (20-24), nickel (14-18), boron (4-5), silicon (4-5), molybdenum (2-4) and iron (44-56).
