摘要 PURPOSE:To facilitate the measurement of a discharge ratio, by a method wherein a preliminarily selected specific additive is uniformly mixed with a sintered solid and the resulting mixture is heated to definite temp. under constant pressure to be held at that temp. for a definite time and, after cooling, the additive discharge to the outside of the specimen is determined. CONSTITUTION:In preparing a sintered solid consisting of a non-deliquescent solid compound of U, Th or Pu, oxide of a rare earth element, carbide of B, Cr or Hf and nitride of Al or Zr at ambient temp. under atmospheric pressure, an additive (a group consisting of NiO, ZnO, Mg2N3, FeS and K2CO3 or Ce, Cr, Cu, Mn, Si, BaO, BaCl2, BiI3, CsI, KI, AgI, UI4, CdI2, CaI2 and ZnI2) is uniformly mixed. Then, a specimen is heated to definite temp. to discharge the additive in the specimen to the outside of said specimen. After the specimen is held for a definite time, heating is stopped to cool the specimen and the quantity of the additive discharge to the outside of the specimen is determined by a proper analytical measuring method. By this method, effective fundamental data for clearing the discharge characteristic of the fission product in a fuel element pellet can be easily obtained.
