PURPOSE:To open and close an opening part for maintenance without projecting from the opening part for maintenance by opening and closing the opening part for maintenance by a shutter which moves along the opening surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular opening part 11 for maintenance is formed on the front surface of a device main body 10, and a roll-up system horizontally opening type shutter 12 is set at the opening part 11. The shutter 12 is obtained by connecting many long lengthwise small width plates 13 from right to left like a reed screen. Jamming detecting sensors for detecting the jamming of a paper are provided, for example, between a paper supply part and a resist part, between the resist part and a transfer part, and between the transfer part and a fixing part in a paper feeding path in the device main body 10. When the jamming is detected by the jamming detecting sensor, the spot where the jamming occurs is judged by a control means, and the shutter 12 is opened to the transfer part, for example, when it occurs between the resist part and the transfer part. |
