A switching circuit reacts to the operating mode of the noise sensitive electronic appts. requiring stabilised high power to select a state by which a DC stabilisation is carried out, according to the interrupt principle through switching of a series transistor. Alternatively the state carries out linearly controlled DC stabilisation through driving the series transistor as a linear amplifier. The prim. power source used can be a car battery. The appts. supplied can be an inbuilt tuner and CD player unit. As well as a supply (105) for the player motor of e.g 7 volts a stabilising supply (106) of e.g. 5 volts is provided. A digital signal processing circuit (107) demodulates the signals read from the disc to correct errors. ADVANTAGE - Reduced power losses and heating of equipment.
