The access door has a stationary semicylindrical wall (4) and a cooperating semicylindrical panel (8) rotated about their common centre point between a fully-closed position (A), an open to the outside position (B) and an open to the inside position (C). A fourth position (D) allows the rotating panel (8) to be fully enclosed by the wall (4) so that a free access path is provided, e.g. in an emergency situation. Pref. the door panel (8) cooperates with a perpendicular panel (9) on the opposite side to the wall (4), normally locked in the closed position, but released to free the access path in the fourth position (D).
