The invention relates to a device consisting of two main parts combined by two different methods to produce a variety of modular frames which are then converted into different pieces of furniture by adding accessories to change their appearance, mechanical strength or function. It consists in particular of a plate (1) whose raised corners (5) take a right-angled V section or equal angle section pierced with holes along its entire length. The apertures (22), (23), (24) and (25) with which the plate is pierced are for locating and fixing accessories.
