Apparatus made up in the form of a casing (1) with a movable lid (3) and without a lateral wall on one (C4) of its sides, this casing enclosing a series of cutting tools (6) in an inverted position and mounted so that they pivot with equidistant separations from one another, on a spindle (7) passing through this casing and parallel with the open side (C4) of the latter, through which the cutting tools project when they are tilted outwards into the cutting position, each of these cutting tools being made up, from its rear end which pivots on the spindle to its front, free and cutting, end, of a bush (10) engaged on this spindle (7) and provided with a threaded rod (11) secured to and engaged by screwing in a blade holder (12) incorporating a cutting blade (13) and provided with a sliding bobweight (14), the position of which can be adjusted and which can be immobilised along the length of this blade holder. Apparatus designed for manually making superficial slits in series, in a great number and in a single pass on pastry, particularly on small round cakes made of puff pastry. <IMAGE>
