Variable-speed drive with a V-belt (5) and pulleys (6, 7) with cheeks of variable separation comprising an input pulley (6) intended to be driven rotationally at variable speed and an output pulley (7) intended to rotate, at a speed which is slaved to the speed of the input pulley, characterised in that one of the cheeks (12) of the input pulley is mounted so that it can move in terms of translation with respect to the other (9) by means of at least two thrust cylinders (8) connected on the one hand to a fixed framework (17) and, on the other hand, to a casing (13) translationally secured to the said cheek (12) and immobilised in terms of rotation with respect to the latter by fastenings without play (28, 35, 36, 37).
