Appts. for mechanically cleaning high viscosity lubricants, e.g., drawing, cutting or rolling oils, has a housing contg. a rotary disc with a pair of reusable (esp. metallic) filter inserts which are aligned in the disc plane diametrally w.r.t. the disc centre-axis and which are permeated transversely to the disc plane. Two transversely adjustable caps are mounted on each side of the disc and are tightly seated on the disc or can be raised from the disc. On one side of the disc, the first cap has a lubricant supply and the second cap has a diametrally opposite filtrate discharge while, on the other side of the disc, the third cap has a lubricant discharge and the fourth cap has a diametrally opposite fluid (esp. compressed air) supply. The caps with the lubricant supply and discharge form a coaxially aligned pair and the caps with the filtrate discharge and the fluid supply form a coaxially aligned pair, each pair being coaxial with one of the two diametrally positioned filter inserts of the disc. ADVANTAGE - The appts. has high efficiency and long service life and is simple to service.
