The applicator housing (2) contains a support strip (6) stock and its return device, each pref. a rotary reel (3,4). There is a drive coupling (33-35) with an integral slip clutch (32). The latter is in the form of an annular clamp or spring (39). The clutch is located between one rotary reel (3) and its bearing portion (37) and is entrained by those two portions, exciting an axial or a radial pressure on the bearing portion. The spring is pref. a slit spring ring, prestressed radially inwards, or outwards. USE/ADVANTAGE - For transfer of adhesive, cover, or colour films, with simple, compact design.
