<p>PURPOSE:To control the driving time of a paper feed roller according to the degree of the skew of paper sheets when a device, in which the interval between a paper feed portion leading from a paper feed tray and a register portion is set to be very short, controls the loop of the paper sheets by means of the paper feed roller provided in the paper feed tray, the paper sheets being stopped in the register portion. CONSTITUTION:A register roller 10 disposed upstream of a photoreceptor drum has a plurality of sensors S1-S5 disposed immediately in front of it to correspond to various paper sizes. Of the plurality of sensors, information from the sensor S1 located on a reference line and the sensor for detecting the other end portions of paper sheets is employed to obtain information about the difference in the time required for detection which is caused by the skew of the paper sheets and then the driving time of a paper feed roller is adjusted and the size of loops is controlled according to the amount of the skew of the paper sheets, so that the device shows its function to align the paper sheets.</p> |
