A high pressure communicating, low pressure actuated, valve which is especially suitable for controlling pressure in a high pressure environment, comprises a housing (32) with a high pressure port (12) and a low pressure port (14). A valve member (70) in the housing has an axial passageway (130) defined therethrough for communicating the high pressure port (12) across a piston (94) of the valve member to an opposite high pressure chamber which is in communication with the low pressure port (14) when the valve member is in an open position. The housing also has low pressure gas ports (16,18) communicating with opposite sides of the piston (94) to control movement thereof. The valve is especially suited for use in a set point pressure control circuit for controlling pressure in a high pressure environment.
