Sealing arrangement for sealing off a shaft (2) passed through a housing wall (1), comprising a radial shaft sealing ring (3) which, with at least one sealing lip (4) of elastomeric material, sealingly surrounds the circumference of the shaft (2) to be sealed off under radial prestress, the sealing lip (4) being fixed on a radially inward-pointing first limb (5) of an essentially L-shaped first reinforcing ring (6), the second limb (7) extending in the axial direction and at least partially overlapping and resting against the outer race (8) of a rolling contact bearing (9), and the second limb (7) being sheathed at least on the side facing the housing wall (1) by elastomeric material and being fixable under radial prestress in the housing wall (1). On the side facing the housing wall (1), the sheath (10) is surrounded over an axial partial area by a second reinforcing ring (11) composed of hard and tough material which, during use as intended touches the housing wall (1), resting against it at least partially, under radial prestress. By virtue of the way in which it is manufactured, the sheath (10) projects beyond the second reinforcing ring (11) in the radial direction outside the axial partial area.
