The pins (2) are cylindrical with capped ends pressing against the supporting flexible pad (12). The body of the pins fits in the perforations of a front guide plate (4), so that individual pins have limited independent movement longitudinally. This movement is absorbed by the flexible pad and limited by the rigid back plate (3). The capped ends of the pins are larger in dia. than the body so as to provide the max. surface area to press against the flexible pad. The pad is of plastics and fits into a recess in the rigid back plate which is covered by the guide plate. USE/ADVANTAGE - Machine vice jaws allow several workpieces to be gripped at the same time.
