PURPOSE:To obtain steel cord for reinforcing rubber for making gaps between yarn stocks, making a flat crosssectional shape of cord proper, raising shape retention of cord, preventing twist of cord, upgrading corrosion fatigue resistance and wear fatigue resistance and improving durability. CONSTITUTION:In steel cord of multi-layer twist structure comprising a core strand formed by twisting three yarn stocks 1 and a side layer part (outer layer, both outer layer and outermost layer) made by twisting a great number of yarn stocks 2, 2a and 3 around the core strand, gaps are formed between the core strand and the yarn stocks 1, 2, 2a and 3 of the side layer part and the steel cord is flattened one direction P to make flat crosssectional shapes 10a to 10e having 1.2-2.0 flatness ratio. |
