PURPOSE:To produce an alkylate gasoline in high yield by alkylating isoparaffin using a heteropoly acid salt as a solid catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An isoparaffin (preferably 4-6C isoparaffin) is made to react with a monoolefin (preferably 3-6C monoolefin) in the presence of a heteropoly acid salt as a solid catalyst at 0-200 deg.C (preferably 0-150 deg.C) under a pressure of 0-50-kg/cm<2>G (preferably 5-30 kg/cm<2>G) to obtain an alkylate gasoline useful as a high-octane gasoline base. The heteropoly acid salt is preferably the compound of formula II (M is alkali metal ion, alkaline earth metal ion, group IIIB metal ion or ammonium ion) obtained by substituting the hydrogen ion of a heteropoly acid of formula I (X is hetero atom selected from P, Si, Ge and As; Y and Z are poly-atom selected from W, Mo and V; k is 3 or 4; m is 0 or 1; n) is positive number showing the number of hydration water molecules) with a cation. |
