Process for production of splinter plates - enabling accurate and simple positioning of the component metal bodies of the splinter plate

A process for prodn. of splinter plates. The splinter plates are of domed shape and comprise adjacent metal bodies in contact with each other on opposite sides, and arranged according to a predetermined plan and then held in position by a suitable medium. The metal bodies (3) are precisely arranged in the concave space between a lower concave template part (1) and an upper convex template part (4). The upper template (4) is positioned once all the metal bodies (3) have been positioned. A heated liquid, solder or glue is then poured in through the bore hole (9) to hold the metal bodies firmly on one unit. USE/ADVANTAGE - The production process for splinter plates is intended to precisely position the metal bodies without any post-process work being necessary. The process is simple and relatively cheap. The resulting splinter plate is highly rigid and transmits the forces arising from shooting.
