The network has a subscriber station (TG1) and an interface (SS1) which receive information from a central peripheral interface unit (ACCN) in accordance with a synchronous transfer mode, with which the information in the transmission channels is introduced in fixed slots of a transmission frame. A second subscriber station (TG2) and a second interface (SS2) receive information from the central peripheral interface unit in accordance with the asynchronous transfer mode, whereby the information is composed into packets of constant length, which consist of head and information fields. A third subscriber station (TG3) and a third interface (SS3) receive information in the direction of the third subscriber station in accordance with a TDM process and in the direction of the third interface in accordance with an adaptive TDM process with multiple engagement.
