The probe (1) has an acorn or a spoon shaped probe head (11), for transmitting energy to the diseased tissue or to the diseased organ, and includes facilities for positioning the probe head inside the body opening. The heating system consists of at least one electrical heating resistance and at least one Peltier element and/or a microwave aerial. A control unit is provided connected by a line (18) to the probe. The probe is provided with at least one thermometer probe which determines the temp. of the heating system and the tissue or organ. ADVANTAGE - Facilitates caring and effective thermal treatment of patient prostate complaints. Enables one time determination of probe depth and quicker matching of probe to treatment.
