The nozzle comprises a housing with inlet for the extinguishing agent and an outlet. The cross-sectional area (4) of the outlet (3) alters automatically and dependent on pressure. There can be a component (5) movable in the housing (1) and with a portion (6) extending into the outlet. A second portion (7) in the housing can be spring-loaded, so that at high inlet pressure the first portion is moved into the outlet, thus reducing the free cross-section of the latter. ADVANTAGE - Avoids need for large pressure-discharge ports.
