<p>of the disclosure Process for the production of moldings by pressing of synthetic monofilament fiber material with simultaneous gluing, and moldings obtained by this process A process for the production of moldings is described in which a fibrous material is mixed with an adhesive and the mixture is kept in a mold under pressure until the adhesive has set. The process comprises employing as the fibrous material essentially cut, chopped and/or torn synthetic monofilaments which impart to the molding hardness and ridigity, and at the same time a large-pored free volume, and having an adhesive content in the finished molding of less than 10 % by weight, based on the molding. Moldings of short-cut monofilaments which are obtainable by the above process are furthermore claimed. In these moldings, the monofilament carrier material imparts to the molding hardness and rigidity, at the same time as a large-pored free volume, and an adhesive content of less than 10 % in the finished molding essentially provides cohesion and elastic properties. Monofilament residual materials can be utilized again using the process.</p> |
