The switch has a housing (1) with an opening for insertion of a switch operating element (22) cooperating with a number of discs (18) within the housing, together acting as a roller for operating a movable contact carrier. Each of the discs is independently rotatable. All the discs have a control cam slot (19) for a pin (15) extending parallel to the axis of the contact carrier. The peripheral edge of each disc has at least one radial slot, cooperating with operating sections (23) of the inserted operating element. The discs may be slid axially along the axis under control of cam surfaces provided by the operating sections. ADVANTAGE - Prevents unauthorised operation of switch, without requiring great mechanical coding.
