The compressor has paired bores (13A,14A) in cylinder blocks (1,2), with a swashplate (1) mounted on a rotary shaft (7) and accommodated in a crankcase (11). Double headed pistons (15A) are coupled functionally with the swashplate and of which each has a pair of piston heads for compression of cooling gas by a forward and backward movement in the bores coinciding with the rotation of the swashplate. Bearing components (8,9) are provided in each cylinder block (1,2), each of which comprises a cone roller bearing which takes up the radial and thrust load exerted on the rotary shaft (7). Each roller bearing is supported on an outer face-side end of the cylinder blocks (1,2), by a bearer component (3a,4a), and a spring (20) exerts a tension via the bearing on the rotary shaft (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - To improve the bearing mechanism of the rotary shaft of a compressor used in a road vehicle air conditioning plant.
