The invention relates to a device for accommodating damageable products, which are supplied substantially continuously, in a container. The device is provided with a control unit and at least one filling line provided with a conveyor for holding and delivering the products which are supplied substantially continuously, a buffer conveyor for the automatic feed and removal of the containers, and a filling holder which can be moved vertically up and down and has a closable pouring opening. The filling holder is designed to accommodate the products which are delivered by the conveyor and to pour the products in a controlled manner into a container located on the buffer conveyor. The control unit is designed to position the filling holder in the vertical direction and/or open the pouring opening, specifically in such a manner that the height from which the products fall both when being delivered into the filling holder and when being poured out of the filling holder into the container is minimal. <IMAGE>
