A system for screening novel or mutant beta,beta-carotene 15,15'-dioxygenase is provided to easily screen through mass/highthroughput method. A system for screening a novel or mutant beta,beta-carotene 15,15'-dioxygenase of high activity comprises: a first DNA construct containing beta-carotene synthetase encoding polynucleotide which is operatively connected to a promoter; a second DNA construct containing a proteorhodopsin encoding polynucleotide and novel or mutant beta, beta-carotine 15,15'-dioxygenase encoding polynucleotide; and a host cell containing the first and second DNA construct.
