A hydrogen storage device using gas is provided to reduce the weight by not using nanoporous material and to increase the hydrogen storage capacity by forming dihydrogen complex and employing alkali metal or alkaline earth metal of single ion. A hydrogen storage device comprises a hydrogen storage container(10) and a hydrogen permeation member(60). The hydrogen storage container is filled with gas including alkali metal or alkaline earth metal. The hydrogen permeation member is mounted on an inlet(50) of the hydrogen storage container in order to pass hydrogen only.
