A multipurpose gas handling system using a high-duty compressor in a liquefied natural gas carrier is provided to reduce failure rate of the high-duty compressor and ensure stable supply of fuel gas by removing or limiting the usage of low-duty compressor. A multipurpose gas handling system using a high-duty compressor in a liquefied natural gas carrier comprises a fuel gas supply unit(8), a high-duty compressor(1), a re-circulation valve(2), a temperature control valve(3), a natural gas burner(4), and a pressure control valve(5). The fuel gas supply unit supplies liquefied natural gas to a carrier screw(9) from a tank(10). The high-duty compressor compresses/ejects the liquefied natural gas in the tank. The re-circulation valve recirculates the liquefied natural gas ejected from the high-duty compressor to the inlet side of the high-duty compressor, thereby enabling low-capacity operation of the high-duty compressor. The temperature control valve controls the temperature of the liquefied natural gas compressed/ejected from the high-duty compressor. The natural gas burner heats the temperature controlled gas to a certain temperature, and delivers the heated gas to a cargo space or a liquefied natural gas terminal(6). The pressure control valve controls the pressure of the heated gas and supplies the pressure controlled gas to the natural gas burner.
