A device (D) is provided for protecting a female end (EF) of a component (T) of a threaded tubular joint for drilling and operating hydrocarbon wells, provided with an internal threading (FI) and annular end surfaces (S1) and internal surfaces (S2) arranged respectively above and below the internal threading (F1) and each having selected first and second orientations. Said device (D) comprises a body (CP), provided with an external thread (FE) designed to cooperate with the internal thread (F1) and first (L1) and second (L2) flexible annular sealing elements arranged respectively above and below the external thread (FE) to provided first and second seals respectively at the internal annular surface (S2) and the end annular surface (S1). The first (L1) and second (L2) sealing elements have third and fourth selected orientations of which at least one differs by an angle of at least 10° from the corresponding second or first orientation before screwing the device (D) onto the female end (EF) and are deformable by axial flexion such as to achieve a force at least partly opposing an unwanted unscrewing by surface contact with the integral annular surface (S2) and the end annular surface (S1) when the female end (EF) is screwed on the body (CP) in a final position.
